What is NMMSS?
The NMMSS aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections pursuing studies in Class 9 at government, government-aided, and local body schools in India.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Students must be studying in Class 8 and secured at least 55% marks in the previous year's exams (50% for SC/ST students).
- Belong to families with an annual income of up to Rs. 6 lakh (as per the latest income tax return or certificate from the competent authority).

One-Time Registration (OTR) for New Applicants:
New applicants need to register on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) using their Aadhaar number or Aadhaar Enrolment ID (EID). This generates a unique 14-digit OTR number, which acts as a permanent reference for future scholarship applications on the NSP.
NMMSS 2024-25: Application Process:
- Existing users can directly log in to the NSP portal using their login credentials.
- New users must register using the OTR process.
- After successful registration, students can find the NMMSS 2024-25 application form under the "Fresh Scholarship" section.
- Carefully fill out the application form, ensuring all details are accurate and complete.
- Upload scanned copies of necessary documents, including mark sheets, income certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), and Aadhaar card.
- Submit the application form electronically before the deadline.
